about me.
I am a 90s-nostalgia obsessed author—especially about 90s hardcore and skateboarding—who loves to write emotional Young Adult and Women’s Fiction stories that feature unconditional friendship, coming-of-age, traversing through muddled waters of trauma or grief, and second chances. I began writing several years ago as a therapeutic measure to deal with my own muddled waters of trauma and found that writing unlocked something within. Since that moment, millions of little scenes consume me until they have their own voice on the page.
I have been an ESOL and Literature high school teacher for more than ten years. I am twenty-two years married (to a skateboarder and hardcore drummer from the 90s). I also have two sons (also skaters and one a drummer), two cats, and a dog. I live with my family in the Georgia mountains just north of Atlanta. During those sizzling summer months, I can be found on the river, in the mountains, or on a mission trip to Guatemala or Puerto Rico doing construction-based projects.
I am a member of the Atlanta Writers Club where I won Best Manuscript Sample for two different manuscripts recently at the Atlanta Writers Conference.
