Tell Me Something True

Will has grown up protecting his mother from his abusive father. He hasn’t let that get in the way of his goofy outlook on life, although his best friends would say that was his defense mechanism.

Will never falls in love either. Why love someone who will hurt you eventually? When he meets Meryl, there’s just something different about her. Her goodness and calm persona puts Will at ease, even after having to pick up his mom’s pieces.

He prefers to keep his love life separate from his physically abusive home life, but the closer he gets to Meryl the more he struggles with keeping those two worlds separate. As the abuse from his father increases, Will loses hope and control. He must learn that sometimes, we need others to bear our burdens with us.
